Your ass is grass, and we’ve got the weed-whacker: It’s BGB Shout! On today’s exciting episode…

- We’re influenced by The BBC Radio Shows, “Wrestle Crap Radio” and The Cigar Nation.
- Bacon plays SingStar Vol. 2
- We tell dumb stories about playing “sports” (not NHL 2k8, real ones)
- The Sun’s Gaming Blog

Basically, Your face, your ass… what’s the difference?

Music: Blue Wonder Power Milk - Hooverphonic

BGB Shout: 2.5: Worst Episode Ever? I’ll bet

by Jonathan Cresswell

bgbshout2.jpg

It’s BGB Shout; like sticking three microphones under some chimps and asking their opinion on games. Wait - that’s exactly what it is. This week we chat about:

RockBand
Oddballz
Creatures
The Lost Vikings
Dark Mist 2: The MMORPG

Is the title accurate? You be the judge.

Hey! It’s that podcast that you’re not sure if you actually like but they once made a joke about Iraqis so you tell your friends that it’s a gripping political satire.

Oh, and I guess we’re actually going for a schedule now. That’s right; during the summer when no games come out. But it’s also during the summer where the three hosts don’t have anything to do, so we’re pretty convinced we can do a better streak of updates than our record of 2. And a half.

On the show this week, we bees-wax poetic about:

- Haze, that game that you thought was cool until you played the demo
- Rock Band, that game you thought was cool until you saw the price
- WiiWare, that service you thought was cool until you ran out of space on your Wii

And here’s the bonus! I edited the show this week! Me! Mark! It’s normally Jon, but now he’s the high flying internet superstar from BGB Newswire, I have taken the torch. Watch out for really bad jobs at cutting in music, syncing the audio tracks, and spilling my Justice collection into Audacity!

BGB Shout: Episode 2.3: Puzzle Chris

Happy Good Sunday! Back and better than ever - love, death and everything in between. In this episode:

- Catch up with the gang: why James Bond causes school shootings, and how March 28th is scary.
- Opinions let loose as initial speculation begins on Sonic Unleashed.
- Jon’s been playing Puzzle Quest on mobile, leading to questions about multiplayer on phones.
- Rogultgot joins the Brawl, and why Smash Bros is what Mario Kart should be.
- Viva, (Rainbow Six) Las Vegas (2)! Bacon talks about the important improvements as well as the good, the bad and the co-op.
- A guide to love, loss and deprevation with Bacon’s e-girlfriend and Jon’s MySpaceBeboBook potential date.

All this and Chris on this week’s episode of BGB Shout.

BGB Shout: Episode 2.2: Hexigonical

Think GDC was a poor show? That’s nothing compared to this one! In this episode:

- Bugger all happened at GDC in the news roundup.
- Order in court for Phoenix Wright…? Nope, it’s Apollo Justice - as the Ace Attorney series returns to the show with impressions from Bacon.
- 7 games in one segment! The good, the bad and the Little Gamers as the XNA community games get questioned, and Jon gets questioned about stuff he doesn’t know.
- Pon, Pon, Pata, Pon! Bacon’s lack of rhythm makes the wacky PSP game Patapon slightly more difficult.
- After a short break, Rog gives fake impressions on game of the fake sport with Smackdown VS RAW. Or something like that.

Jon whines about the logic of iPhone ads, find out what type of wrestler Bill Gates would be, and even more on this week’s edition of BGB Shout.

P.S. Yes, we know Rog sounds terrible. His microphone is too.

BGB Shout: Episode 2.1: Reminds me of a Puzzle

Posted: 17th February (11:53 am GMT)
by Jonathan Cresswell

Clear out your podcatchers, because by some demand BGB Shout is back! In this episode:

- Jon’s quick summary of the latest news with HD-DVD, Aerosmith and Team Fortress 2.
- Rog is less than convinced than Jon with the addictive qualities of Audiosurf’s high score boards.
- Bacon and Rog haff tvelve metchsteek, and there’s 10 candle trickery with Professor Layton’s village full of puzzles.
- Impressions of Smash Bros. Brawl from Bacon, but someone’s not happy about that (hint: it’s not Bacon).
- The trio take on Assassin’s Creed on 360 and DS, questioning almost every aspect from swimming to stealth, and ethical assassins.

All this and an epic climax with the death of Bacon on this episode of BGB Shout.

P.S. It’s a compass, and I’m bloody sure of it.

Episode 30

by Jonathan Cresswell

The boys are back in town! It’s episode 30 of BGB Shout, and as ever, it’s late to the party.
BGB’s trio discuss the utter joy of the Orange Box with HL2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2; Rog tries to list 3 good things about Yu-Gi-Oh GX on the DS; insurance fakery and Lego Loco; whining about Halo 3’s metagame; Jon annoys Bacon about Zelda chronology; Racing fun with Sega Rally, Yaris and PGR; Bacon fails at being a football hooligan, whilst get live commentary on LAST week’s Rugby thanks to people in Rog’s house.

All this and more in a long overdue episode of BGB Shout!

Episode 29

Posted: 29th September (5:47 pm GMT)
by Jonathan Cresswell

You see, this is what happens when Jon plays games: the show gets delayed! Don’t worry though, it’s jam packed with tons of content!

Recorded last weekend, the BGB crew rambles through a series of games they’ve been playing. Bacon blasphemes by bashing Halo 3 (Halo 3 talk ends around 15:30, for those who want to avoid hearing stuff), Rog hasn’t been moneyhatted for Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland, there’s the second recent beta as Team Fortress 2 hits Steam, Jon plays a demo for people who sound like him with Viva Pinata: Party Animals, the game isn’t over (yeaaaaaaah) with Sega Rally’s 360 demo. There’s impressions of combo-shmongo Heavenly Sword, and keep yourself together for Dead Head Fred on PSP.
From there the show reduces to general rambles about LOST and Prison Break, 360voice blogs and other stuff.

All this and a heck of a load more on this week’s BGB Shout!

Episode 28

Posted: 20th September (7:33 am GMT)
by Jonathan Cresswell

Format? What’s a format? BGB Shout returns to classic craziness with free for all discussion of the latest releases.

Bacon and Rog play a treat with Ubisoft’s guitar simulation… thing, Jam Sessions on DS, the touch screen talk continues with Sonic Rush Adventure, there’s more discussion of Call of Duty 4 and we stay in the fight for Medal of Honour, but do the Halo ads make us want to finish the fight? We celebrate the Hanabi Festival on the Virtual Console, and chat about a whole load of other things in no particular order.

All this and more because your mother is a horse, only on this week’s BGB Shout.

Episode 27

Posted: 13th September (7:16 am GMT)
by Jonathan Cresswell

Better quality, lower file size: it’s this week’s episode of BGB Shout!

In Whatcha Been Playing, Rog’s been on the battlefield with Worms 2 on the DS, Jon talks about not new games with Forza 2 in order to redeem himself from the bashing of it last time, and Bacon takes Tomb Raider Anniversary around with him on the PSP version. Then, it’s back in the warzone with indepth talk of the all new Call of Duty 4 beta.
After a Rog existance failure, the show continues with the normal Week in Review covering the week’s releases, and also new things on Virtual Console and Live Arcade.

All this and more, but also less, on this Birthday edition of BGB Shout!
